David Hume suggests that what we consider 'our self' is nothing more than a bundle of perceptions. He admits that when he thinks about himself he cannot find anything independent of a perception. Is there really such thing as a self, or does our conception of an existing self amount to nothing more than a bundle of the perceptions we have experienced throughout the course of our lives?
